My collection "Beams" is exploring the dichotomy of hard and soft. My initial inspiration for this concept was butterfly wings, and how they have bold outlines and intricate structure, however the areas in between those outlines are soft and sheer. I wanted to play around with this concept, so I designed garments in which delicate/sheer fabric pieces are stretched over artisanal wrought iron pieces wrapped around the body. I have really enjoyed this exploration between delicate and hard, as well as creating unique silhouettes with the iron accessories that can be worn separately as statement pieces with or without the garments shown.
