This dress was designed, patterned and constructed by me for a luxury studio class in Spring of 2018. My initial concept was a juxtaposition of my current senior collection group. For my collection (found under the "Senior Collection 18'-19'" tab) I depicted the most extreme versions of each emotion through the silhouettes, colors, and patterns of each outfit. In this garment, I explored the opposite, dreams and the more lucid functions of the brain. I wanted to create a piece that is light and airy, while also being whimsical like a figment of your imagination. I created the dress with a structured spherical undergarment made of hand-dyed 12oz canvas, and the ruffles on top of 100% silk organza that was dip-dyed in a fiber reactive dye.
